The Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) have stated that for this academic year there will be three contingency days:

Thursday 6th June 2024 - afternoon only

Thursday 13th June 2024 - afternoon only

Wednesday 26th June 2024 – all day

These contingency days may be used if there is any disruption to a day of examinations resulting in the examinations being rescheduled. Therefore, students need to make sure they are available on all three dates and should not be away or on holiday

The JCQ go on to say, if students are not available because they are on holiday and one of their exams is rescheduled to a contingency day, they will not be eligible for special consideration by the exam boards. For this reason, the JCQ request all schools inform parents and students of this date so that it can be taken into account when making plans for the summer.
