Operation Encompass North Tyneside

Operation Encompass North Tyneside What is Operation Encompass?  The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in a domestic abuse incident. Following an incident at home, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset and unprepared for the day. North Tyneside Council, the police and nominated Key Adults in school will be working together to make sure that school staff are made aware of an incident early enough to support pupils in school.  When will Operation Encompass be launched in North Tyneside? Operation Encompass will launch in June 2016. For more information about Operation Encompass, [click here] l or visit http://www.operationencompass.org/

Our latest vacancy

Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor APT&C Grade 5 (£14,724.22 - £16,501.92 – full time equivalent) 30 hours per week (8.30 a.m. – 3.10 p.m. /4.00 p.m. on Tuesday) ‘193 day’ term time only contract (working 190 teaching days, 3 training days) This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful and over-subscribed school. Our school has a really positive ethos, with very strong pastoral and academic guidance and a real emphasis on learning in everything we do. We were inspected by Ofsted in May 2012 and were graded as Outstanding in every category and overall. Such significant progress has only been possible because we have a committed, enthusiastic and highly skilled staff team, a supportive governing body and superb students. We genuinely believe the support, care and welfare of our students is second to none and we are a school which puts the students at the very centre of all that it does. Ofsted said that our students receive “a first-class education” but we are not a complacent school. There are many aspects that we can improve further and our challenge is to do this without compromising our existing strengths. We are looking for a highly skilled and confident person to join us as soon as possible, to support students in lessons, implement work programmes and supervise classes during the short term absence of teachers. If you are enthusiastic, positive and committed to the progress and wellbeing of young people we would like to hear from you. Please contact us for further details and an application form. Closing date for applications: 9am, Friday 24th June 2016. All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Check. GEORGE STEPHENSON HIGH SCHOOL SOUTHGATE KILLINGWORTH NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE NE12 6SA Tel: 0191 216 1115 E-mail: georgestephenson.high@northtyneside.gov.uk GSHS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.     FAMILY LIAISON WORKER APT&C Grade 7 (£18,825 - £21,201) 37 hours per week, 193 Term Time We require a Family Liaison Worker from September 2016. The role requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with parents, students and teachers in and out of the classroom. As a member of the wider pastoral guidance team within school, and in liaison with external agencies, you will be instrumental in helping young people and their families to overcome a wide range of difficulties that are getting in the way of effective learning. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful and over-subscribed school. Our school has a really positive ethos, with very strong pastoral and academic guidance and a real emphasis on learning in everything we do. There are many aspects that we can improve further and our challenge is to do this without compromising our existing strengths. This is an interesting and demanding post, but one which will give the right candidate an opportunity to be part of a committed and dedicated team of teachers and support staff, whose prime aims are the continuing improvement and development of the school and the support and encouragement of its students. If you are someone who loves learning and is committed to working with students who need your encouragement to succeed, and would like to work with colleagues who are friendly, committed and very hard working, then we would be delighted to receive your application.
