Closure of Monkseaton High School – North Tyneside Emergency Admissions Round
We are delighted to welcome prospective parents of Year 9 students currently at Monkseaton High School and parents of Year 8 students currently in middle school to an information evening on Tuesday 14th January. Parents of children in Year 8 can attend at 4.30pm and parents with children in Year 9 can attend at 5.30pm.

Please note this admissions round is only for children currently in Year 9 at Monkseaton High School or in Year 8 in a North Tyneside middle school.

We recognise the significant impact that the closure of Monkseaton High School has for many families in North Tyneside. At GSHS we want to make the transition of any child joining us, either from Monkseaton High School Year 9 or middle school Year 8 children, as smooth as possible. We have been working behind the scenes to create additional capacity in these two-year groups to help ensure that as parents you have choice about where you can send your child. We can do this without any change to the buildings or staffing meaning there will be no disruption to education.
Our website will give you lots of information about the school and our feed on X shows the many opportunities our students receive. I would draw your attention to our prospectus and vision statement and of course if you or your child know any of our students or parents – please talk to them!

Our information evening will take place on Tuesday 14th January at 4.30pm-5.15pm for parents of Year 8 children and at 5.30pm-6.15pm for parents of Year 9 children. The evening will be a short presentation about the school followed by an opportunity to meet with staff and some students.
