Vacancy

EDUCATION WELFARE OFFICER

Closing Date: 12:00pm 26th February 2024

GEORGE STEPHENSON HIGH SCHOOL

EDUCATION WELFARE OFFICER

APT&C Grade 7 (£25,238 - £26,583)

37 hours - 193 day term time only contract (working 190 teaching days plus 3 training days)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and over-subscribed school. Our school has a really positive ethos, with very strong pastoral and academic guidance and a real emphasis on learning in everything we do. We believe the support, care and welfare of our students is second to none and we are a school which puts the students at the very centre of all that it does.

We require, as soon as possible, a flexible and experienced EWO (or related profession) to help our school to improve student attendance, reduce unnecessary absence and truancy and improve punctuality. The EWO will be based in school, working closely with the Attendance Officer, the Guidance Team, the local authority Education Welfare Service and other members of staff.

The person appointed must demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, whilst being flexible and adaptable to the needs of the job. In addition, the post holder will be expected to work proactively and independently as well as being an effective team member.

If you are enthusiastic, positive and committed to the progress and wellbeing of young people we would like to hear from you.
