Visiting George Stephenson High School - Covid-19 Guidance - ISSUE NOVEMBER 2021

We have an obligation to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of everyone on the school site. We are therefore implementing the following regulations to help ensure that we maintain a COVID-secure environment for all, inclusive of visitors.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines in place, we are currently operating an essential visitor only policy at George Stephenson High School.

We are following advice from Public Health England so we are limiting access to our school site.  If you are unsure as to whether your proposed visit is considered essential, please email or phone the School Office on 0191 2161115 during office hours to ask for advice.

If your visit is essential, we still ask that you refrain from attending if:

  • you have travelled from or transited through any of the countries or areas that have been on lockdown, or required a quarantine period, in the past 14 days;
  • you have developed a fever (above 37.8C) or a new, continuous cough or any other Covid-19 related symptoms within the last seven days;
  • anyone in your household is required to self-isolate in accordance with Government guidelines;
  • any visitors must wash their hands with soap and water before leaving home and once they arrive on site. Gel hand sanitizer will also be available on arrival and throughout your visit;
  • all visitors MUST always wear face coverings; face masks can be provided by the school if required.

We would also like to advise you that our school is currently operating a ‘no handshake’ policy.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting the school.

Thank you.
