School Catering

At George Stephenson High School, we are finally in a position to be able to offer a Cashless Catering Provision from September 2020.

The new provision is intended to improve the lunchtime experience for all our students, incorporating the latest technology and eliminating the need for our students to carry cash throughout the day, whilst being covid-19 secure.

Our new cashless system is designed to work in the same for all students regardless of free school meal entitlement.

Next Steps

  • If you are a new parent to the school, or you have yet to activate your Parentmail account, you will receive a Parentmail activation email. Please follow the instructions and activate your account before the 1st September.
  • Once parents have a Parentmail account active, you can access Accounts – Dinner Topup. This is the system’s cashless catering section.

Free School Meals

Some students may be eligible for free school meals. If you believe that you are entitled to this we advise that you register as soon as possible.

Free School Meals Allowance for 2020-2021 is £2.25. Students in receipt of an FSM allowance can only use their allowance at lunchtime.  When the allocation is used it will display on the student's account.  Students may purchase food and drink at breaktime using their Top Up balance.
