Students give the Thumbs Up to new System!
Students at George Stephenson High School are in one of the first Schools in North Tyneside to use Biometric technology to access a cashless dinner system.
Each student has had their thumb print scanned which is then read as a 9 digit code, this allows them to add money to the system and purchase food at break and lunchtime. The main advantage is that it’s very hard to lose your Thumb! Unlike the old cards,
one Student was over heard saying “it’s like something off Dr Who; it’s great, you never have to think about where your card is.”
Once again George Stephenson High and North Tyneside Council are at cutting edge of technology providing a simpler system for students and staff.
