Sport Relief
On Friday afternoon all of Year 7 had a great time doing the Sport Relief mile around the school field to raise money for impoverished children in the UK and around the world. The weather was kind to us; sun and blue skies, and a large number of students entered the spirit of the occasion by dressing up in all sorts of silly costumes.
There were ‘118’ runners, red socks, dodgy beards and wigs, a horse, pyjamas, grass skirts, goofy teeth and thick spectacles and making it a truly international affair, two sumo wrestlers. After a brief warm up the mile began.
Percy Headley was running the mile at the same time so the atmosphere was great. First across the line was Owen Barrett, the first teacher was Miss Tassiker, and the first animal was the horse.
Thanks to the PE department and all staff and students who made the event such a success. As a result we have raised over £70 for Sports Relief.
