GSHS Well Placed In The Financial Times Top 1,000 Schools In The Country
The Financial Times has just published (on 26th February 2011) its Annual Report on the Top 1,000 Schools in the Country. This ranks all schools (state and independent) in the country for their performance at A-Level. We are delighted to report that George Stephenson High School was the highest placed North Tyneside school and was the seventh highest placed state school across Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
The Report measures all the schools in the country on several factors but uses two key measurements to rank the schools: the A-Level points per candidate and points per entry, in terms of core subjects only. Using these two metrics gives an assessment of both the quality and quantity of exam passes in 2010.
