Let’s Circus comes to GSHS!
On Wednesday 7th July, students at GSHS will be audience to a professional circus company, and will then be given the opportunity to try some of the skills and tricks for themselves!!
Let’s Circus create and deliver programmes of circus performances, street theatre and variety entertainment and are the largest provider of circus training programmes, circus workshops and participatory events in the North East of England.
Students in Years 7 and 8 will watch a performance by Let’s Circus performers, and a smaller group of students will be able to take part in workshops delivered by the professionals. We will then be holding an after-school workshop, where students from years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be able to learn more about circus skills such as unicycling, juggling, tumbling and much more!
This taster afternoon is primarily to promote summer sessions that will be hosted in school, and also to promote a locality evening circus skills club that will be running at Longbenton College from September (all funded by Extended Services).
