It is with great pleasure that we present to you our joint North West Cluster Prospectus for entry to the Sixth Form in September 2008.

The three Sixth Forms in the North West Cluster maintain their distinct identities, but benefit considerably from the close partnership which we have worked so hard to develop over recent years. Students are able to learn in optimum sized groups and continue to receive highly personalised, individual support and guidance. They also, however, experience the breadth and range of curriculum choice characteristic of much larger schools where, for the most part, it is difficult to receive such highly personalised care and guidance.

In the recent Ofsted Inspection of Seaton Burn College, the Inspectors endorsed our strong view that our partnership offers students curriculum excellence:

“Curricular provision in the Sixth Form is good because of the effective partnerships with two other schools. This means that learners have access to a wide choice of courses.”

This prospectus forms part of the information and guidance process in which students and their parents and teachers will take part over coming weeks. We look forward to working with you to ensure that our young people make the best choices and secure the best opportunities they can for September.

We commend to you our Sixth Form. We believe we offer unparalleled commitment from our staff, a strong curriculum and excellent wider opportunities tailored to the needs of our young people.
