We were absolutely delighted with our A-level and GCSE results again this year. An outstanding 64% of our students achieved 5 or more A*-C passes including English and Maths. This is well above both the local and national averages and well above the target set for the year group. Last year we were in the top 15% of schools nationally on progress measures and we expect these results to put us in a similar position this year. 27% of all grades were A/A* (compared to a national average of just over 20%) and 18 of our students, over 10% of the year group, achieved nine or more A/A* grades. We are very proud of all our students. They have worked very hard and deserve these excellent grades. The majority of our students are joining us in the Sixth Form next year and we would like to wish them, and all the students leaving us, every success in the future.
Our Sixth Form students also achieved excellent A-Level results this year. Our pass rate at A-Level this year is 98.4%, with 57% of all results achieved being A* to B grades and 80% A*-C. Our Average Points Score per entry is 214 (up from 205 last year) and our Average Points Score per student is 762 (up from 724 last year). These are the best A-Level results the school has ever achieved and it is a testament to the hard work from our students and teaching staff. The vast majority of our students are now going to go on to their first or second choice university place and we would also like to wish them every success in the future.
