2011 GCSE Results

• Our 5+A*-C pass rate including English and Maths is 67% (last year was 50%). This is well above both the local and national averages and well above the targets set for the year group (our challenging FFT D target was 55%). Last year we were in the top 9% of schools nationally on progress measures and I expect these results to put us even higher this year.
• Our 5+A*-C pass rate is 88% (up from 81% last year and well above target).
• An outstanding 32% of all grades were at A/A* and we had fifteen students with ten or more A's or A*'s - the highest achieving student was a girl who got nine A*s and five A's.
• Our Average Points Score per student is 519, our highest ever and well above our target of 450, and our Capped Average Points Score (the best 8 results per student) is 359, our highest ever - up from 332 last year and above our target of 340.

We are absolutely delighted with the GCSE results this year. An outstanding 67% of our students achieved 5 or more A*-C passes including English and Maths. This is well above both the local and national averages and well above the target set for the year group. Last year we were in the top 9% of schools nationally on progress measures and we expect these results to put us even higher this year. They have done it some style too. A third of all grades were A/A* (compared to a national average of just over 20%) and 15 of our students, over 10% of the year group, achieved 10 or more A/A* grades.  They represent our best results ever and a clear improving trend. It is a testament to the hard work from our students and teaching staff. The students have performed even better that we hoped they would. We are so very proud of all our students. They have worked very hard and deserve these excellent grades. The majority of our students are joining us in the Sixth Form next year and we would like to wish them, and all the students leaving us, every success in the future.
