Year 7 Boys Win The North Tyneside U12 League...

The Year 7 football team were crowned the U12 league champions last week. In 10 leagues outings they were only defeated once. This came in their first league match against Valley Gardens in September. From then on they remained undefeated for the rest of the season to claim the top spot prize. It has been a magnificent campaign for the boys in their first year at GSHS. In 15 matches they conceded only 14 goals and scored a huge 61 in return. The tight defence was down to the hard work of the well organised back 5 of Steven Whitmore (goal keeper), Jonathan Forster, Owen Barrett, Mark Waters and Daniel Reay.

In attack the goals came from the following sources:

Mark Milne - 15

Chris Hunter- Winship - 8

James Job - 8

Alex Whitmore - 6

Dominic Bell - 5

Connor Serginson - 5

Marc Dixon - 2

Lee Mather - 2

Daniel Reay - 1

Jack Moran - 1

The boys attended a presentation night at The Village Hotel where they were with the League Trophy and The League Cup, which they won several weeks ago. Despite the success this year the boys still have further ambitions next season. They would obviously love to retain both trophies as well as putting up a stiff challenge for the County Cup.

To close this season there are still some trophies to be given out in assembly after half term. They are Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Top Goal Scorer.  Watch this space to find out who wins…………….
